JUNE FULL MOON AND FENG SHUI

The Full Moon of June: Meanings, Astral & Feng Shui Correspondences

The June Full Moon, often considered the most romantic of the entire solar-lunar cycle, falls on Wednesday the 11th. In North America, it’s known as the “Strawberry Moon,” named after the strawberry harvesting season. In Europe, it’s more commonly called the “Honey Moon” or “Hot Moon,” evoking images of sweetness and romance.

This full moon has a strong connection with romance and marital bliss. In Europe, the tradition of gifting mead to newlyweds during their first moon of marriage gave rise to the term “honeymoon,” which now refers to the post-wedding trip. It was believed that the lunar phases reflected the phases of a marriage, with the Full Moon symbolizing the happiest period.

In India, the June Full Moon is also celebrated as “Vat Purnima,” a ritual where married women express love for their husbands, drawing from the legend of Savitri who saved her husband from death.

Pagans also call it the “Lovers’ Moon,” considering it an auspicious time to strengthen bonds and show affection. Some spiritual practices, like Hoodoo, use honey in rituals to “sweeten” feelings, demonstrating the symbolic power of this period for relationships.

This year, the astral configuration of June’s Full Moon is as follows:

The Sun-Moon opposition is located exactly on the cardinal east-west axis (the reason for its exceptional magnification), with Mercury and Jupiter conjunct just above the horizon and close to the Sun. This is a very special configuration that, when integrated with the Chinese Compass, leads us to interpret it according to a Green Dragon of the East vs. White Tiger of the West dynamic. For Feng Shui, this represents a powerful confrontational energy between Wood and Metal. It will be important to especially support the Wood energy by favoring the development of green (as a color and as a plant element) in the east sector of the house. Additionally, it’s advisable to use soft furnishing materials like fabrics and carpets, and elongated rectangular shapes that reach upwards.
